I have been sketching for as long as I can remember, entering art competitions as a child and later I started using acrylics, painting as a hobby.
Then I painted my first pet portrait in acrylic, for an employer of mine of their pet dog in a beach scene, they loved it so much that they had it framed and hung in their dining room. Shortly after that I was asked to paint parrots in a lake scene for a work colleague.
In 2005 I started using oils for their brilliant depth and transparency, buttery texture and better control of drying time.
Then in 2008 I joined the Mosman Art Society in NSW and became a committee member that same year.
The movement and ever changing elements of the sea with its strength, has a demanding respect.
The ocean is a constant changing mass that holds my attention, and I try to capture it in oils.
